Lady Informs Fiancé’s Family She Is Pregnant, ‘He’s Infertile!’ His Mom Says – Story of the Day

The Pregnancy Bombshell That Changed Everything

Chris stood in front of his parents’ house with his hands deep in his coat pockets, his face tense.

“I just want to get this over with,” he muttered, glancing nervously at the front door.

Amanda, his fiancée, reached for his arm and gave it a soft squeeze. “Honey, they’re your parents. We want them to accept me, remember? We want them to come to the wedding, don’t we?”

Chris let out a frustrated grunt. “Amanda, I honestly don’t care anymore. I’m sorry, but if they still can’t accept the woman I love, then I want nothing to do with them.”

“Please,” she said gently, looking into his eyes. “What about the future? What about our children? Don’t you want their grandparents to be part of their lives?”

Chris clenched his jaw. He didn’t say anything for a few seconds. Then he finally muttered, “Yeah… I guess.”

Amanda smiled and tried to lighten the mood. “Okay! Now cheer up. We’re in this together.”

She wrapped her arm around his, and they rang the bell.

The door opened slowly, revealing Mrs. Castillo—Chris’s mother—with her usual fake smile. She barely lifted the corners of her lips.

“Hello, Amanda,” she said, nodding slightly. “Nice to see you.”

Chris rolled his eyes when she turned away. After all these years, his parents still treated Amanda like a stranger. They had never accepted her. To them, Amanda had ruined everything—they had a different woman in mind for their son.

Years ago, when Chris had just graduated college and landed his first job, his parents introduced him to Ciara Geoffrey, the daughter of a wealthy and well-known family. Her father sat on the board of a prestigious private clinic, and the Castillos thought it was the perfect match.

They never did.

Amanda always tried her best. She invited Chris’s mom to help with wedding planning, kept calling to include her, and remained kind—even when they didn’t deserve it. What she hadn’t told anyone yet was that she and Chris were trying for a baby. She hoped the news of a grandchild might finally warm their icy hearts.

At the dinner table that night, Chris sat stiffly, hardly tasting the food. He had something urgent to tell Amanda—something that might ruin everything between them.

His father cleared his throat and looked at Amanda. “So, how’s work?”

Amanda smiled brightly. “Oh! It’s going well, thank you. We’ve got a big event coming up, and I’ve been helping plan it. It’s been fun.”

Mr. Castillo gave her a tight smile. “That’s… fine. But when are you going to quit your job?”

Amanda blinked in confusion. “Excuse me?”

“To become a housewife,” he clarified, as if it were obvious.

“I’m not quitting,” Amanda said quickly, stunned.

“She’s going to keep working, Dad,” Chris snapped, his voice full of irritation.

“Of course,” his mother said with fake sweetness. “Amanda is a modern woman, isn’t she?”

Amanda chuckled nervously. “Well, I’m not sure about my long-term plans. It’ll depend on the future. Actually… that’s what I wanted to tell you all. I’m pregnant!”

She smiled wide, expecting happiness or at least surprise. But what followed was silence so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Then Mrs. Castillo stood up so suddenly her chair screeched back. Her face twisted into fury.

“HE’S INFERTILE!” she screamed.

Amanda’s smile vanished.

Chris was frozen, his fork hovering mid-air.

Mrs. Castillo’s voice rose again. “YOU LIAR! YOU CHEATED ON MY SON AND GOT YOURSELF KNOCKED UP? YOU’RE TRYING TO TRAP HIM WITH A BABY?”

“What? No! What are you talking about?” Amanda gasped. “Chris and I have been trying for months. This baby is his!”

Mr. Castillo slammed his napkin on the table and stood. “Get out of this house immediately. If you come near my son again, we’ll call the police.”

“Chris!” Amanda begged, her voice breaking. “Please. Say something!”

But Chris sat frozen, his eyes glued to his plate.

Mrs. Castillo grabbed Amanda by the hair and began dragging her toward the door.

“GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE, YOU FILTHY GIRL!”

“Chris! HELP ME!” Amanda cried.

The door slammed shut behind her.

In the following days, Amanda was heartbroken. Chris had moved out of their apartment without a word. When she returned home, she found the truth sitting coldly on the kitchen counter—a folder with his medical test results… and a small sticky note.

“I was concerned and got tested. I’m infertile. Completely.
I hope you have a happy life, but it won’t be with me.” – Chris

Amanda’s knees buckled. “No… no, no, no. This can’t be real.”

She hadn’t cheated. She hadn’t been with anyone else in years. This was Chris’s baby. It had to be.

She tried everything—calling him, going to his parents’ house—but they slammed the door in her face and threatened her with arrest.

“Fine!” she yelled through her tears. “I’ll raise this baby alone. You’re the ones who’ll regret this!”

And she did. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and named him Paul. He looked just like Chris. Blue eyes. Same smile. Same hair.

“Those idiots,” Amanda muttered one night, watching him sleep. “They have no idea what they’re missing.”

Meanwhile, Chris tried to move on. His parents comforted him, supported him, and encouraged him to date Ciara again. He was numb and didn’t care anymore. Eventually, he let them plan an engagement with Ciara, the girl he never wanted.

Then, one afternoon, Amanda bumped into him by accident.

“Oh,” she said, looking up.

“Amanda,” he said softly. “Hi.”

“Bye.”

“Wait,” he said and grabbed her wrist. Her phone fell. He picked it up, and the screen lit up. His eyes locked on the photo of a baby.

“Give me that,” Amanda snapped, snatching the phone. “You don’t get to look at him.”

“Him?” he whispered.

“Yes. My son. Mine. Alone.”

Chris blinked. He couldn’t stop thinking about the picture. That baby looked so familiar. It stirred something deep inside him.

Could it be?

Days later, Chris sat in Ciara’s mother’s living room while she and her mom discussed wedding flowers. He barely listened.

Then Mrs. Geoffrey said something that made his blood run cold.

“Oh, I can’t wait for the babies you two will have. Just precious!”

Chris looked up. “I’m infertile. You should know. I was tested at your husband’s clinic.”

She laughed nervously. “Oh, that was just… our plan.”

“Plan?” he repeated, voice icy.

Mrs. Geoffrey went pale. “I-I mean… those tests can be wrong…”

Chris stood abruptly. Ciara returned to the room just in time to hear him say, “I hope you both rot in hell.”

He demanded the truth from his own mother. She admitted everything. The results were fake. A setup. A scheme to push Amanda out and bring Ciara in.

“You’ll never see me again,” Chris said, and he meant it.

He rushed to Amanda’s apartment and let himself in. He walked through the nursery, saw the clouds on the wall, the little clothes, the tiny shoes. He sat on the bed and cried until he fell asleep.

“AAAAH!” Amanda screamed when she turned on the light. “GET OUT! I’M CALLING THE COPS!”

Chris jumped up. “Amanda! It’s me!”

She ran to grab something to defend herself. “What the hell are you doing here?!”

“I know everything,” he said, breathless.

He told her the whole story.

Amanda sat in silence for a long time. Then she said, “I’m not surprised. But it’s still… unbelievable.”

“I’m so sorry,” Chris whispered. “I didn’t believe you. I should’ve trusted you. I was a coward.”

Amanda nodded. “Yeah, you were.”

“Is there any way you can forgive me?”

“Life’s too short for grudges.”

“Can I… Can I be in his life?”

Amanda hesitated. “I don’t know. It’s been hard. Lonely. It wasn’t supposed to be like this.”

“I’ll earn it. I’ll make it up to both of you. No matter what.”

She stared at him for a long time. Then she said, “You can start by meeting your son.”

He laughed and cried at the same time.

“And then,” she added with a half-smile, “we probably need to sue Mr. Geoffrey.”

Chris nodded. “Yeah. I’m gonna need a lawyer.”

What can we learn?

Always get a second opinion, especially when the news is life-changing.
Trust the people you love. Ask questions. Don’t jump to conclusions.
And never let anyone else decide your future for you.
Because sometimes, the people you think are protecting you… are the ones doing the most damage.

But Chris didn’t care about wealth or status. In college, he had made friends from all kinds of backgrounds. He’d seen what real people and real love looked like. Country club girls weren’t for him.

Then he met Amanda.

It happened by chance—he was driving out of a parking lot when he accidentally bumped into her. Literally. She had stormed off angrily at first, but Chris had fallen instantly. He cracked jokes, flashed his charming smile, and begged for a date. Eventually, she said yes. And they never looked back.

Until his parents stepped in.

The first dinner Amanda ever had with them was a complete disaster. She went to the restroom, and Chris’s parents used that chance to tear her apart.

“She’s just an assistant, for God’s sake,” his mother hissed. “Why can’t you be with Ciara? That girl adores you.”

“You need to marry someone of your class,” his father added, shaking his head with disappointment.

Chris’s voice was low but firm. “I’m not listening to this anymore. I don’t want anything to do with Ciara.”

Amanda returned and instantly sensed the change in mood. She smiled and tried to keep things cheerful, but the rest of the dinner was unbearable. Later, Chris told her the truth. Amanda, ever the optimist, said, “Let’s just give them time. Maybe they’ll come around.”
